Once upon a time there was a monkey who worked very hard to build his small business. Day after day he struggled making cold calls and getting nowhere with gate-keepers, let alone decision makers. After years of banging away at his phone and slipping on banana peels, he decided to try attending a local business networking event. He walked in and immediately started chatting with some other monkeys like him. After the meeting, he called one of the new monkeys he met to swing out to Starbucks for a coffee and some bananas. They talked about each others services and how they could help one another obtain new business. The result from only one event was increased business and dealing with monkeys like him.
This monkey had figured out that networking was a better route to building his business than contacting people cold and wasting a lot of valuable time. Unfortunately, there was one problem with networking locally, he never knew where and when the best events were being held. There simply wasn’t a complete and accurate resource to find what he was looking for…until it hit him. Networking Monkey! He would build a database that would include every networking event imaginable to share with all of his monkey pals. This way he could help monkeys all over Chicagoland find the events that would fit their needs.
This was how Networking Monkey got started. This monkey’s goal was to help you maneuver your way through the networking jungle. Go bananas!
